From September 19, tickets for all screenings and accompanying events from the Cinelibri program in the capital are already on sale. Tickets for the rich selection of film titles included in the parallel online edition of the festival on the Neterra.TV+ platform also go on sale today.

The start of the festival on October 8 gives the dystopian tale φ1.618 of the director Theodor Ushev, an adaptation of the novel "Pumpal" by Vladislav Todorov. This is the only Bulgarian title in this year's international feature film competition program. In addition to the competitive program, Cinelibre will also offer an impressive list of titles distributed in several parallel sections.

Among the cinema-literary pleasures, the titles “Superheroes”, “Waiting for Bojangles”, “Promises”, “Colors of Fire” and “stand out. Blind willow, sleeping woman" Each of the screened books has been released in our country or is about to be released on the eve of the corresponding film premiere.

Paolo Genovese's "Superheroes" is an adaptation of his own novel - a tragicomic dissection of a couple, recreated by the magnetic tandem of Alessandro Borghi and Jasmine Trinca. A work that makes us ask ourselves a simple but profound question: is it necessary to have superpowers to create a family that will stand the test of time?

The elegant historical drama "The Colors of Fire" by Clovis Corniac, adapted from the novel by Pierre Lemaitre, is a sequel of sorts to the film masterpiece "See You Up There" - also a screen adaptation of Lemaitre. In "The Colors of Fire" the grand mother of French cinema, Fanny Ardan, shines. And while we're on a French wave, we can't help but celebrate the premiere of the romantic melodrama "Waiting for the Bojangles" in the company of Olivier Bourdeau himself, author of the multi-award winning bestseller of the same name! The famous Belgian actress Virginie Efira shines in the film, with Romain Dury as her partner. In addition to arriving as a member of the jury in the competition for a full-length feature film, Burdo will present to the Sofia audience the book and the film based on it, as well as his new novel - "Florida", loaded with huge expectations from readers.

Another member of the jury - the charming and incredibly talented Amanda Sters, will present her film "Promises", an adaptation of her own novel, which has just been released in Bulgarian, translated by Krasimir Petrov. Viewers will also be able to enjoy another of her films - the charming comedy with satirical notes "Madame", in which a whole constellation of actors - Toni Collette, Rossi de Palma, Harvey Keitel and others participated. The zealous fans of the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, whose short story collection "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman" now has a Bulgarian edition, will not be disappointed either. What's more, the French-Canadian animated film of the same name based on the book, which won the Jury Prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival, will be screened at Cinelibre.

Among the highlights of the program is the Venice Film Festival's Golden Lion-nominated film adaptation of Florian Zeller's play The Son, which is part of a trilogy that also includes the same playwright and director's inimitable film The Father. With a powerful drive after its presentation in Venice, where it was nominated for the "Horizonti" award, the film "The Syndicalist" by director Jean-Paul Salomé, with the magnificent Isabelle Huppert in the lead role, arrives in our country! The plot, which touches on important social and political issues, is based on an investigation in the field of nuclear energy.Fans of eccentric Spanish artist Salvador Dali should not miss the biographical drama DaliLand starring Ben Kingsley, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Nominated for a "Golden Lion" from the Venice Film Festival and right after its special presentation at the Toronto Film Festival, "Other People's Children", a curious comedy-drama with director and screenwriter Rebecca Zlotowski, and the film "To Live " - a remake of the Japanese masterpiece Ikiru (1952), whose script was written by the famous writer Kazuo Ishiguro. "To Live" by director Oliver Hermanus, starring Bill Nye, was no coincidence nominated for the Audience Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
