Undoubtedly, when it comes to eating in summer, we all prefer light foods that won't stop us from indulging in long walks and fun with friends. Something tasty and satisfying to fill us with energy and a good mood. What is the food of the summer? This is definitely the salad! In all its various variations.

Can we surprise our senses when we talk about salads? Yes of course! We will offer you several ideas to diversify your menu. Here's who they are:

Caprese salad with watermelon and strawberries

You will need:

  • 3 tsp watermelon, diced;
  • 2 tsp strawberries, diced;
  • ½ tsp crumbled feta cheese;
  • ¼ tsp extra virgin olive oil;
  • s alt to taste;
  • pepper;
  • basil.

Mix everything together in a large bowl. Toss lightly, garnish with basil and serve.


Salad with corn, bacon and jalapeño


  • 3 tsp corn;
  • 150 g pan-seared bacon, diced;
  • 1 jalapeño chili (or regular chili);
  • 1/3 tsp mayonnaise;
  • 2 limes (juice from them);
  • a pinch of red pepper;
  • a pinch of garlic powder;
  • s alt;
  • pepper;
  • parsley.

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir well until combined. You don't need fat as the bacon will render. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Quick Greek Salad

You will need:

  • 500 g cherry tomatoes (cut into halves);
  • 1 cucumber, cut into freckles;
  • 1 tsp kalamata olives (halved);
  • ½ head red onion (cut into thin crescents);
  • 1 tsp crumbled feta cheese.

For the dressing:

  • 2 tsp wine vinegar;
  • the juice of ½ a lemon;
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano;
  • s alt;
  • pepper;
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil.

Make the salad by mixing the tomatoes, cucumber, onion and olives.Gently crumble the cheese and add it. In a small bowl, make the dressing - mix the vinegar, lemon juice, oregano, s alt and pepper. Add the olive oil in a thin stream and mix. Drizzle the dressing over the salad.

Avocado and chicken salad

You will need:

  • 2 pcs. chicken breast (precooked) and cut into pieces;
  • 2 pcs. diced avocado;
  • 1 pc. mango (small);
  • 1 tsp chopped tomatoes;
  • ½ tsp canned corn;
  • ¼ head red onion, finely chopped.

For the dressing:

  • juice of ¼ lime;
  • 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil;
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander;
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped hot pepper;
  • 2 tsp honey;
  • s alt;
  • pepper.

In a small bowl, prepare the dressing. Mix the rest of the ingredients and add them to it. Stir well. If desired, you can serve with toast or tortilla.

German Warm Potato Salad

Required products:

  • 1 kg fresh small potatoes;
  • 200 g bacon;
  • 1 head finely chopped red onion;
  • 6 tbsp wine vinegar;
  • 3 tbsp water;
  • 2 tbsp olive oil;
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard;
  • 1 tsp sugar;
  • s alt;
  • pepper;
  • 2-3 spring onions.

Boil the potatoes that you previously cut in half. Once they are ready - drain the excess water. Fry the bacon until it gets a nice tan.Drain off its fat into a small bowl. Then sauté the onion. When it softens, add the vinegar, water, olive oil, mustard and sugar. Once the onions are caramelized, season with s alt and pepper. Mix all the products - the potatoes, the bacon (and its fat) and the stewed onions. Stir. Finally, add the chopped green onions.
