Making jam is an easy and delicious way to keep the memory of the long summer days alive. In autumn and winter, when we have to spend more time at home, we have the opportunity to indulge in more experiments in the kitchen. Therefore, it is good to have a delicious homemade jam on hand. How to do it? Here are our suggestions:

Strawberry Jam

Required products:

  • 2 kg strawberries;
  • 2 kg of sugar (maybe less if your strawberries are sweet);
  • ½ tsp citric acid.

The first step in making your jam is to wash the strawberries.Do this along with the green part and do not remove it as this will cause the fruit to absorb excess water. After you have washed and cleaned the strawberries afterwards, put them in a large pot. Add the desired amount of sugar – either 1:1 or less. Let the strawberries and sugar sit overnight. In the morning, start brewing. The aim is for the mixture to thicken as the excess syrup boils off. Do not overdo it with the temperature, it is enough for the jam to simmer on the fire, not to boil intensively. Add citric acid to taste (about ½ tsp).

Stir occasionally. When the jam thickens (after a few hours), seal it in jars while still warm. Turn the jars over.

If you don't have a whole day to cook the jam, you can do this in several batches - when the mixture reaches a boiling point, cook for a few minutes and let it cool. When you have time - resume brewing. You can repeat this several times.

Blueberry Sweet

You will need:

  • 1 kg blueberries;
  • 1 kg sugar;
  • 1 tsp water;
  • ½ tsp citric acid.

Pour the sugar into a saucepan, add the water and wait for it to boil. When this happens and the sugar has already dissolved - pour the cleaned and washed blueberries. After some time, add the citric acid. Simmer over low heat until thickened. When this is done, pour the hot jam into jars and turn them upside down. You can store cool or in the refrigerator.

Delicious raspberry jam

Required products:

  • 1 kg raspberries;
  • 800 g sugar;
  • juice of half a lemon;
  • 600 ml water.

Wash the raspberries very carefully, trying not to crush them. Pour into a saucepan and then add the sugar and water. When the jam starts to boil, remove the foam that forms. If you don't care about it, you can put a small piece of oil (5-6 grams), which will prevent the appearance of foam. After the mixture has boiled for 5 minutes, remove the fruit from the syrup. Add the lemon and cook the syrup until it thickens. When it does, return the fruit and cook again for 10-15 minutes. When you think it's ready, pour the jam into jars and turn them upside down with the lids.
