Bulgarian soprano Sonia Yoncheva won the "Singer of the Year" award at the prestigious Opus Classic Awards 2021 for the album "Rebirth" in English. Opus Classic are the European equivalent of the Grammy Awards. The official award ceremony will be held on October 10 at the Concert House, Berlin. It will be broadcast on the biggest TV channels in Europe.

"I am very happy to win this prestigious award with an album that is very close to my heart," shared Sonia Yoncheva. In the fall, Sonia Yoncheva will perform a series of concerts with the program from the album "Rebirth", in which, along with the classical repertoire, there are also two songs - the Bulgarian "Zableyalo mi agantse" and "Like an Angel passing through my room" through my room") from ABBA's repertoire, for which the world-famous Bulgarian soprano receives the blessing of Benny Andersson from the Swedish group.

The album "Rebirth" released by Sony Classical is among the best-selling albums in the opera section in the last year.

Yesterday Sonia Yoncheva became an honorary citizen of her hometown of Plovdiv.

“I am happy to receive the recognition of my fellow citizens. Thank you, Plovdiv, for the love and support," said an excited Sonia Yoncheva after the solemn ceremony.
