"The Lord of the Black Sea" Tsanko Tsankov this week is a special guest in the "Golden" section of the morning block "Bulgaria Morning" on Bulgaria ON AIR. On July 8, from 07:00, viewers of the national multi-thematic television will learn the inspiring story of the Bulgarian who is preparing to swim the Strait of Gibr altar and set a new world record, as well as more about his achievements so far.

Tsankov goes down in history as the swimmer who became the champion of Bulgaria in the most individual disciplines - nine. He is also ranked No. 3 in the men's 100m individual medley all-time rankings.

The swimmer's achievements continue to pile up, as on August 22, 2020, he broke the World Record of swimming continuously for 12 hours in a 50-meter pool. In 12 hours, Tsanko managed to swim 50,600 meters, showing his strong competitive spirit and endurance.

The undisputed peak in Tsanko's sports and competitive activity is the achievement by which he became the first person in history to swim across the waters of the largest Bulgarian bay - Burgas Bay. The covered distance of 46,800 meters is also the longest individual swim ever made in the thousand-year history of the Black Sea, by all the countries bordering it, with which Tsankov once again set a record and earned the nickname "The Lord of the Black Sea".

Conquering new heights, the brilliant athlete has set his sights on yet another lofty goal in his career – an attempt to set a new world record in the Strait of Gibr altar, which has been designated as one of the 7 toughest swims in the world. The task is difficult, but Tsankov is determined to embark on the great challenge and glorify Bulgaria again.
