The great Bulgarian actor Yosif Sarchadzhiev is the main character in the episode "Dekalog'2001" from the series "Smart Village", which Bulgaria ON AIR will broadcast this Sunday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. 10 years after the first meeting with the actor, the Smart Village camera captures the actor's return to life after the severe stroke that cut his life in two.
In the first episode "Views of Joseph and the Sea", Bulgaria ON AIR reminded the audience about the "Robinson period" in the actor's life: when, at the age of 55, he experimented with his being and lived by the sea. Exactly 10 years later, the camera of "Smart Village" meets the beloved actor again. In the episode "Decalog'2001", her lens seals his account of the misfortune that happened in the meantime. After a long and heroic recovery, the new period in Joseph's life begins, in which the main driving force will be the overcoming - of the physical, of the psyche and of fate, for the sake of life and profession.
The film presents a conversation about life and death, about what is "beyond" and what are the supports of life that keep us "here". The writers of the episode and their character together take a look at the previous screen and life episode of the man Joseph and comment on what was shared 10 years ago, sounding with strange prophetic power.
Despite the momentary obstacle to the pronunciation of words, the film presents the actor Joseph as he has always been - still frantic, devoted to the profession and indifferent to the passions of the day, finding strength for humor, irony and self-irony.
“Why did I come back from the afterlife? Because I had work to do," says Yosif Sarchadzhiev with a smile.
