Fibank (First Investment Bank) is among the first financial institutions in Bulgaria to offer its customers the opportunity to digitize their Mastercard debit or credit cards issued by the bank through the Google Pay service. Thus, customers using smartphones with the Android operating system (version Lollipop 5.0 or later) can make contactless payments at POS terminals in retail outlets, make purchases in Android applications or pay with cards at online merchants that accept Google Pay (information about this can be found on the merchant's website).

Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and one of the most popular payment systems in the world.Adding a card to Google Pay is quick and easy. For this, the customer must download the My Fibank application and add their card to Google Pay. Information about added cards is stored securely and not shared with merchants. To make a payment, you just need to unlock your smartphone (supporting NFC function) and bring it close to the contactless reader of the POS device. The service is available wherever the Google Pay symbol or contactless payment sign is displayed.

In the last 12 months, due to the ongoing pandemic, the share of contactless payments has been continuously increasing, with more and more users preferring to use a smartphone or smartwatch for the purpose. By adding Google Pay to the bank's rich palette of payment options, PIB meets the changing needs of its customers and further expands the range of services. Fibank is the first bank in Bulgaria to offer payments with digital cards via smartphones or smartwatches such as Garmin and Fitbit. With another successfully implemented innovation, the bank once again strengthens its position as a leader in the card business in the country.
