This fall, the Bulgarian debut film "Faith, love and whiskey" will be shown on home screens. The film brings together actors from three countries - Bulgaria, Macedonia and the USA - to recreate on screen a dynamic story, partly based on the personal experiences of the young director Kristina Nikolova, who completed her training under Spike Lee in New York University.
The Macedonian actress Ana Stoyanovska (discovery of Milcho Manchevski) and Valeri Yordanov ("Ketsov"), and the actor John Keibler, Yavor Baharov, Lidiya Injova and others complete the line-up. The film already has 7 international awards, including the Kodak Vision Award for Best Cinematography, Slamdance FF and Best Film / Narrative Competition, Dallas IFF and has been screened in 15 more cities around the world.
The story follows the contradiction in a young Bulgarian woman's choice between an arranged future with her fiancé in America and her all-encompassing but destructive love at home. A candid film about emotional journeys, forbidden passion, desires and hesitations, and deciding where we want to end up.
Faith, Love and Whiskey hits the screens on November 1, 2013.
