Rice is one of the most difficult products to prepare. Many housewives find it difficult to cook with rice, as it can easily be either overcooked or too raw and crunchy, which spoils the whole dish.
To succeed in making the rice always fluffy and perfectly cooked, follow some simple but useful tips.
Here's what you need:
- measuring cup
- pot with lid
- s alt
- wooden spoon
1. Boil the water and add the s alt
Pour the water into the pot. For every cup of rice used, use 1 and ¾ cups of water. Cover with the lid. Wait until the water boils. Add 1 teaspoon of s alt to the water.
2. Add the rice
Add the pre-measured rice to the boiling water.
3. Stir to prevent sticking
Stir the rice with the wooden spoon as soon as you put it in the water so that there are no clumps of grains. But don't overmix it so it doesn't get mushy and too sticky.
Put the lid on the pot. It is important that it fits well. Reduce heat to low. Let the rice simmer like this for 18 minutes. Set a timer to be safe. Then remove the rice from the heat, strain and return to the pot. Cover with the lid to sit like this for another 5 minutes.
5. Stir the rice with the fork
To make the rice even more fluffy and loose, stir it with a fork. This helps to both mix it up and keep it from turning into a mush since the fork is permeable unlike a wooden spoon.
And so you will have wonderful cooked rice in the right proportion every time!
