In summer, most people love beach vacations. A beautiful tan is a desired effect that we enjoy long after returning from the sea.
Baking in the sun, however, we lose a large part of the fluids in the skin. It becomes dry and cracks easily. So we not only lose our nice tan after our skin starts to peel, but also expose it to serious he alth risks.
In order to protect our skin from problems, and to return vital fluids to it, we must hydrate it with a suitable lotion. One such is the Homemade Deep Hydrating Lotion with Shea Butter and Coconut Oil.
How to make it at home?
- ½ cup shea butter
- 2 tablespoons nourishing oil, such as coconut, jojoba, avocado, apricot, or almond (optional)
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops rosemary essential oil
- 3 drops of carrot seed oil (or grape seed oil)
- 3 drops of tea tree oil
In a saucepan over medium to low heat, melt the shea butter in a water bath. Stir all the time. Then add the nourishing oil of your choice to it. Turn off the heat and keep stirring.
Pour the lotion mixture into a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes to set. Do not allow it to cool too much. Then remove from the fridge and add the essential oils. Mix very well until you get an absolutely homogeneous mixture.
Transfer to a suitable jar with a lid and store at room temperature.
Apply the homemade lotion every day, especially after sunbathing. Your skin will thank you!
