French women are known not only for their impeccable dressing style, but also for their beauty. One of the secrets they use to maintain their youthful and firm skin has a 200-year history.

The face mask that Queen Marie Antoinette applied to her skin is still present in the daily beauty rituals of French women. What's more, the Archduchess of Austria and Queen of France definitely knew what ingredients to include in it to keep her skinyoung.

The royal mask included the following ingredients:

Cognac – the long distillation process of cognac releases more anti-aging polyphenols, which stimulate blood circulation, tighten pores and brighten the complexion.

Egg protein - eggs are full of proteins that restore skin tissue, reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The potassium in them helps retain moisture in the cells; magnesium slows down premature aging.

Lemon – Lemons are a powerful source of citric acid, which is a natural exfoliant that removes the top layer of dead skin cells while simultaneously fighting hyperpigmentation. Lemon also has powerful anti-bacterial ingredients that help detoxify the skin and prevent acne breakouts.

Milk powder – the lactic acid in milk helps remove dead skin cells. The ingredient was added by today's French women.

To make the mask you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons cognac
  • 1/3 cup dry milk
  • 1 egg white
  • juice of 1 lemon

All ingredients are mixed in a blender. The mask is placed on cleansed skin with light massage movements. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse with water.
