Until you can get to your dentist, you can try some home remedies for a toothache that can help and give you relief.
Clove Oil
Cloves are an easy method of suppressing nerve sensitivity. Clove oil causes numbness and pain at the site when applied topically because it is a natural anesthetic. Clove oil can reduce toothache if you rub some of it on the affected area.
Chili Pepper Flakes
Capsaicin is the active substance of hot pepper. It has the property of acting on the areas affected by pain. Mix some chili powder with enough water to make a paste. Using a cotton ball or your finger, massage the painful area around the affected tooth to relieve the pain. Leave it on for a while, as long as the hot pepper doesn't make you want to rinse it off faster.
S altwater
Dissolve sea s alt in water. Gargle, trying to gurgle around the toothache. S alt has the property of reducing swelling and helps to remove plaque and food debris. The s alt water also helps draw out fluid that may have collected in a pocket around the painful tooth.
Tea
Some types of tea have a calming effect. They can help with a toothache. Such are mint tea, chamomile, sumac. In addition to pain relief, they also have an anti-inflammatory effect. Simply brew any of these herbs, cool the tea and gargle. The tannins in the tea help dull the pain and provide temporary relief.
Hydrogen peroxide rinse
If the toothache is accompanied by fever and bad breath, this suggests a bacterial infection. Until you get to your dentist, you can gargle with a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide diluted with water at a ratio of two parts water to one part hydrogen peroxide. Do not swallow. Spit after gurgling. Hydrogen peroxide reduces infection and cleans inflamed tissues. Then rinse the mouth several times with clean water.
