Fun questions to provoke the child to share

Children love to ask questions and every parent knows this very well. According to research, young children ask an average of about 300 questions a day. There is certainly no particular need to encourage the child to ask questions, it is their natural need.

What they need, however, is to answer questions themselves. Common questions such as "How was your day" and "What did you eat" have been shown not to work productively in the development of the parent-child relationship. The default response to these questions is "Okay," which often ends the conversation. To provoke the child to share more and relax to talk about his thoughts, desires, experiences, you can use some funny questions that are guaranteed to improve the relationship between you.

Don't worry if the child doesn't want to answer your questions at first. Don't push it, wait and try again. You need to give him time and so the child will feel that what he is going to tell you really matters to you, that you are genuinely interested in his thoughts.

Here is our list of 30 fun questions. Add to them those that come to your mind and use them boldly.
