With a special culinary event, the two popular chefs chef Manchev and chef Shishkov presented their joint book "Manchev vs. Shishkov. 52 recipes against 52 recipes" published by Lidl Bulgaria.
After a difficult selection and numerous experiments to achieve a perfect result, a total of 104 author's recipes of Chef Manchev and Chef Shishkov have been collected in the luxurious edition. "The adventure we joined a year ago at the invitation of Lidl gave us the opportunity for the first time to work together with Chef Manchev and to create a different dish every week with their products," said Chef Shishkov during the presentation of the book.
“It is truly an exciting moment now to share publicly for the first time the result of a year of dedicated effort and many more years of accumulated experience.” In the book, in addition to recipes that the two chefs have already prepared, there are also those created especially for the edition. "Of course, some of our ideas didn't manage to get the perfect finished look we were looking for, so naturally they were dropped," said Chief Manchev.
“It was a special experience for us to share with readers both different professional stories and experiences, as well as very personal moments. Most of all, I think we were able to tell what we believe and how we think about food.
“Manchev vs. Shishkov. 52 recipes against 52 recipes" is the natural continuation of the common culinary mission of Chef Manchev and Chef Shishkov - to remind people of the great importance of home-cooked food and how fun and inspiring cooking together with family and loved ones can be. The dishes in the culinary edition are divided into several main sections: appetizers, dishes with meat, dishes without meat, desserts and traditional Bulgarian dishes.
During the book's official premiere, food bloggers and media representatives had the chance to cook three dishes from the book with one of the two chefs. Chef Shishkov's team bet on bold decisions and prepared a cheesecake with salmon, chicken roulade served with stuffed figs with brie, and for dessert "Catalana" cream with hazelnut truffles.
Chef Manchev's team opted for the classics and did a great job with the salad with chicken tenderloin and herb sauce, rib eye steak with risotto and pepper sauce, and for dessert they opted for chocolate gato.
