Pregnant women should stick to an eco-friendly lifestyle as much as possible - with the use of less chemical household cleaners and deodorizers and, of course, medicines. That's why aromatherapy comes to the rescue.

It is important to remember which aromatic oils are safe for expectant mothers and how they can be used:

Rose wood – for nervousness, irritability, high blood pressure and sleep disturbance;

Eucalyptus – against infections, mastitis, fever, headache, as an air disinfectant;

Petitgrain – for sleep disturbance, fatigue, headache, pain and sprained limbs;

Lemon – for circulatory disorders, skin diseases, varicose veins, pimples.

Fennel (Slice or Wild Fennel) - after delivery only - increases tissue elasticity, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, smoothes wrinkles, helps increase lactation after delivery;

Orange – for stress, insomnia, skin lesions;

Chamomile – for nausea, vomiting, depression, cystitis, edema, headache – taken after the 4th month of pregnancy;

Neroli – anti-stress, headache, pain-relieving, antiseptic action – with cosmetic purposes for dry and sensitive skin;

Peppermint – for flu, cold, headache, to relieve tension during childbirth, for insect bites.

Essential oils can be applied directly to the skin, avoiding direct sunlight; in aromatic lamps; for massage mixed with base oil; as an aroma medallion or for drinking - 2-3 drops dissolved in a glass of water with honey.

Not recommended during pregnancy oils of hyssop, Chinese aralia, cypress, cedar wood, patchouli, marjoram, nutmeg, marsh mint, rosemary, basil, parsley, frankincense, thyme, cloves, wormwood.
