Villa Yambol Vineyards Selection limited series of wines entered among the five best from Bulgaria in the annual Divino Top 50 ranking. The awarded wine is from the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties, vintage 2016 and is produced from vineyards from an ecologically clean microdistrict. “This blend has remarkable depth and complexity. The elegance of the body and the moderate alcohol content make it stand out from the usual more powerful and high-alcohol Thracian wines. Slender and noble!" commented the wine experts.

Vineyards Selection is Villa Yambol's collector's wine series, created with the idea of unfolding the most captivating characteristics of the terroir. The wines are created from three microdistricts - Tenevo, Topolitsa and Bolyarovo. The plantations of the awarded in Tenevo are from 2005. “This is not just the result of hard work and a lot of effort, this wine is a dream come true. Already by planting the vines in these micro-districts, we set ourselves the goal of creating unique wines that demonstrate the power of the terroir and what potential it can reveal in classic French varieties," commented the Villa Yambol team. The vineyards for the production of Vineyards Selection are planted according to the "Rose of the Winds" - a compass that determines the rotation of air currents, their direction and intensity. The grape harvest starts at the beginning of September and lasts until mid-October, the grapes are picked by hand. The vinification process takes place in special small vessels – micro-fermenters and open fermentation tanks.65% of the wine was aged for 16 months in French barrels.
This is another award for the limited series of "Villa Yambol". A little earlier this year, Vineyards Selection Tenevo won a silver award at the prestigious French competition Vinalies Internationales, organized by the Union of Oenologists in France.
“There is no doubt about one thing - all wines from the Top 50 are of very high quality, and their authors have every right to be proud of a job well done! And also, there are more and more wines in our country that vividly reflect their terroir, as well as more and more skillfully and intelligently working with our local varieties. This is the right path and we are really proud of the achievements of Bulgarian winemaking!", the organizers from Divino pointed out.
