About 20% more people decided to travel in the days surrounding St. George's Day compared to 2016. This is shown by the data of the Posoka tourist agency. The most preferred destinations for this period are Greece and Italy, and more precisely - Halkidiki, the island of Crete, the island of Santorini, the island of Thassos, Rimini, Sorrento, the island of Sardinia and the island of Sicily. Prices for a holiday there with own transport in a three-star hotel and 5 nights included start from BGN 250 per person and vary according to the services included in the respective tour package.
Posoka also noted a growing interest in destinations such as Costa Blanca, Costa Brava, Costa del Sol and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, as well as in the increasingly popular resorts in Portugal - Algarve, Estoril and others. Last but not least is Croatia with resorts such as Rovinj, Umag, Poreč, the island of Krk and Opatija. Offers for trips there start at BGN 350.
“If you have to compare the trips on Easter and St. George's Day, they are definitely more on Easter. However, with the arrival of summer, more and more people are starting to orient themselves towards the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and the resorts in Greece and are booking now. It is during this period that the offers for summer vacations are most attractive, because discounts are included for early booking," says Plamen Ivanov, Outbound Tourism Manager at Posoka.
