The Academy of Fashion with chairman Prof. Lyubomir Stoykov awarded the "BG Fashion Icon 2017" prize to the most stylish and successful Bulgarians - Iliana Raeva, Gala, Iliana Zaharieva, Yordana Dimitrova, Kapka Amzina, Niki Kanchev and Niki Iliev.
The official ceremony brought together some of the most influential personalities in society and public space. At the beginning of the award ceremony, Prof. Lyubomir Stoykov appealed to all winners of the "BG Fashion Icon" award: "As role models and leaders of public opinion (or as it is now fashionable to say - influencers), please use your influence - be an example of style, taste, virtue and a decent lifestyle… And most importantly: do good, help those in trouble!"

The award ceremony traditionally featured previous winners of the Academy of Fashion prize, including Anton Hekimyan, Joanna Bukovska-Davidova. The TV host Gala became the first two-time winner of the most prestigious Bulgarian style award (her first award was in 2010).
With the high prize, the Academy of Fashion associates good looks with professional success and an impeccable reputation. And the purpose of the contest is to stimulate stylish and popular Bulgarians and to encourage good examples in the public space.
The prestigious competition is organized for the ninth year in a row, and the prize that each winner traditionally receives is a sculpture, the statuette being an interpretation of the first clothing of Adam and Eve - the fig leaf - with the images of the most famous designers and fashion icons.
The presenter of the event was the charismatic Geri Doncheva.
