The number of people with reproductive problems in our country is growing, and more and more Bulgarians are resorting to in vitro procedures.

Data from the World He alth Organization indicates that between 8 and 15% have reproductive problems, but this is difficult to say because it is not easy to analyze.

In developing countries, the problems of couples with reproductive problems are times less than in developed countries. This is what reproductive medicine specialist Dr. Sasho Raykov said in the program "Bulgaria in the morning". According to him, this is due to the postponement of the first birth, and nowadays, when one is chasing a career and higher education, this is normal.

“If we take the example of women who freeze eggs - there is a new definition for them "Triple S" - free, sexy and successful. These are women who are very successful in their careers and still haven't found their soulmate," he added.

Food and sleep are also factors in getting pregnant.

“These days, when we only eat GMO foods, no one can say to what extent they affect, but all these preservatives do. Aluminum has also been proven to affect fertility," he also said on Bulgaria ON AIR.

In almost all cases there is a success rate with in vitro procedures, and the percentage of cases that are unsuccessful is very small.

„ The age of the man matters, but the determining factor in reproduction is the age of the woman. If she came too late, it gets slower. 50 years is the limit when a woman should give up trying. With own gametes - 44 is too late, success rate is low. I am not only talking about whether she will become pregnant, but about the birth of a live fetus," added Dr. Sasho Raykov.
